Are You Nervous About Going to See Your Dentist?
COVID-19 has changed everything. We conducted a consumer survey in March this year, we wanted to compare it to how consumers were feeling in May last year. This is what we found.
People are nervous about returning back to “normal” life.
41% of consumers would delay routine dental appointments
With concerns about COVID-19 cited as the main reason for almost half saying they will delay check-ups by quite a few months. Even after ‘lockdown ends’ over a third of UK adults say they will visit a dentist less often.
18% of all UK adults say they would not attend a routine dentist appointment next week if they had one – but this rises to 22% of over 55 year olds.
This is worrying, especially as over a quarter of UK adults say they have brushed their teeth LESS often during lockdown.
Over half of UK adults said they have consumed more chocolate, sweets and fizzy drinks (including alcohol) than before COVID-19.
But there is hope.
Over three quarters of UK adults say they want to learn how to improve their own dental health to prevent tooth decay or tooth erosion. 83% say they take oral health seriously...
Almost 80% of UK consumers are interested in taking a healthy mint which helps reverse tooth decay and erosion.
UK adults need to book an appointment with their dentist. Over 62% of us haven’t seen a dentist in over a year. When was the last time you saw a dentist?
